About the Project
The Pyramid Highway/US 395 Connection project is the result of a coordinated effort between the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County, the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Together, these agencies completed and approved the environmental study, including the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) in June 2018 and the Record of Decision (ROD) in December 2018.
This collaborative effort laid the foundation for a major transportation investment that will help reduce congestion, improve safety, and support the continued growth of the Spanish Springs community.
As the project moves into future phases, RTC and NDOT will continue to work together to determine responsibilities for project delivery phases including design, right-of-way, and construction. The proposed improvements are located within NDOT right-of-way and will operate as NDOT highways.
