In observance of Independence Day, construction operations will conclude Friday, June 30 by 6 p.m. Work resumes Thursday, July 5 at 8 p.m.
Have a safe holiday! If enjoying the fireworks from the BLM recreation area, please remember that entering the construction zone is both dangerous and prohibited.
Did you see it? At the end of shift last Friday, crews spelled out "USA" with the rock being placed along one of the slopes. Granite's drone captured this image of it.
Crews have placed approximately 5,290 tons of riprap (rock) on graded slopes. That's equivalent to approximately 881 adult elephants!
24-hour Operations Postponed
Work will be occurring 24-hours-a-day now starting Sunday, July 12 at 8 p.m. through December. Crews will start installing new underground utilities between Disc Drive and Farr Lane. Utility work will occur during the night while earthwork will occur during the day.
For nighttime work, southbound (SB) and northbound (NB) Pyramid Highway will be reduced to a single lane between Farr Lane and Los Altos Parkway, starting between 8 and 9 p.m. each night:
SB nighttime working hours: Sundays at 8 p.m. - Fridays at 5 a.m.
NB nighttime working hours: Sundays at 9 p.m. - Fridays at 7 a.m.
All lanes, both SB and NB, will be open during the daytime. Expect congestion delays through the work zone during peak hours. Pedestrians and cyclists will continue to use the designated, barrier protected path located on the east side of the highway.
All work is weather permitting and subject to change.
