Now through mid-October - Crews will continue constructing and pouring the footings of the four sound/screenwalls being built between Los Altos Parkway and Golden View Drive. Wall footings are continuous strips of concrete that spread the weight of the walls across the soil and provide structural stability.
Week of October 8 - Crews will begin paving the new widened section of highway on the west side between Queen Way and Los Altos Parkway. Then, they will begin milling out the existing southbound lanes/shoulder and placing new asphalt. Once complete, traffic will be shifted to the newly paved westside of the highway so widening operations can take place on the east side (anticipated to occur mid-October).
Mid to Late October - Two back-to-back marathons, or major construction weekends, are anticipated to occur mid to late October. Plans are still being finalized and advance notice will be provided soon. During these events, drivers can expect Pyramid to be reduced to single-lanes.
Construction operations are weather dependent and subject to change.
Left Turns Prohibited Between Los Altos and Golden View
NDOT and Granite Construction urges the community to obey traffic laws while driving through the work zone. Recent traffic and access changes between Los Altos Parkway and Golden View Drive are in effect 24/7 for everyone's safety:
