The second major construction "marathon" weekend will begin this Friday, October 20 at 9 p.m. Work will occur 24-hours-a-day until Monday, October 23 at 5 a.m. These marathon weekends are allowing crews to install necessary underground drainage across the highway as quickly as possible and help expedite the overall construction schedule.

Traffic and access changes during the day and night include:
*UPDATED* One lane of traffic open in each direction on Pyramid, with traffic shifted to the east

A look at last weekend...
Photo from Saturday, October 14 morning: The first concrete box culvert being installed under the northbound lanes on Pyramid Highway. The box culvert drainage system will replace the old galvanized steel culverts (as seen in photo) allowing greater hydraulic capacity.
Photo from Saturday, October 14 evening: All box culverts are installed and crews backfill around the new drainage system in order to rebuild that portion of the northbound lanes.
Next Week: Traffic shifted to west side between Queen Way and Los Altos Parkway
Beginning Monday, October 23, all traffic will be shifted to the newly-paved west side of the highway between Queen Way and Los Altos Parkway. Crews will begin widening operations on the east side. This traffic shift is expected to last through 2024 when widening work has concluded.
Travelers can expect the following changes:
The designated pedestrian/bicycle route will be relocated to the west side of the highway, follow ped/bike signage. *Walking/riding through the active construction area outside of this designated ped/bike route is prohibited*
Haul trucks and construction vehicles will be entering the work area at Farr Lane and exiting at either Disc Drive or Los Altos Parkway
Speed limit remains 45 MPH
No access to public land area from Pyramid Highway until project completion
To reduce impact to daytime commute traffic, all lanes will remain open during the day. Drivers can expect overnight lane closures between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
