Beginning Monday, March 18 at 8 p.m. Shoppers Way will be temporarily closed to and from Pyramid Highway. Crews will be reconstructing the access to align with the newly-widened portion of the highway. This work includes removing the existing pork chop island, pavement and curb, regrading the access, installing a new island, repaving the roadway, pouring new curb and gutter, and tying into the recently installed multiuse path.
The closure will be in effect 24/7 and is expected to last until Thursday, April 18. Traffic will detour to either Los Altos Parkway or Disc Drive.
Multiuse Path South of Los Altos Parkway Nearly Finished
Did you know? The freshly poured "sidewalk" that crews have been installing between Queen Way and Los Altos Parkway over the last several weeks is actually a 10-foot-wide multiuse path. Once complete, users will be able to walk or ride on the path. It will also be protected from vehicle traffic by barrier rail.
The majority of the multiuse path is now installed. The path will be complete south of Los Altos Parkway when crews are able to connect to the Disc Drive and Los Altos Parkway intersections, as well as Shoppers Way. Reconstruction of these three approaches must occur first. The path will ultimately extend south of Los Altos Parkway up to Golden View Drive.
The multiuse path remains closed to the public until paving is complete.
